The Texas Private Schools Association (TPSA), founded in 1967, serves as the public voice for private schools in Texas. TPSA represents over 1,200 accredited private schools educating more than 300,000 students statewide.

Description:
Supports TPSA’s policy, advocacy, and membership initiatives.Track and analyze legislation relevant to private education, prepare bill summaries, position papers, and advocacy materials, support government relations efforts, and represent TPSA at meetings, hearings, and events.Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, education, nonprofit management, or a related field, strong written and verbal communication skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
• Track and analyze legislation relevant to private education
• Prepare bill summaries, position papers, and advocacy materials
• Support government relations efforts, including coalition building and stakeholder engagement
• Monitor and communicate updates on key issues such as school choice (TEFA), school safety, privacy, and regulatory policy
• Represent TPSA at meetings, hearings, and events as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, education, nonprofit management, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills
• Proactively identifies priorities and addresses needs before they arise
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively
