Description:

Responsibilities:
• Acts as American’s primary liaison to the Republican Conference of the United States Senate, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with offices representing hub states and committees of jurisdiction.
• Educates policymakers on key Company initiatives and general corporate matters.
• Provides timely analysis to Global Government Affairs colleagues on federal policy developments related to transportation, aviation, tax, energy, security, and workforce development.
• Promotes the American Airlines brand with stakeholders and supports awareness of the Company’s community affairs and philanthropic efforts.
• Serves as an active Ambassador for the AA Political Action Committee and represents the Company at congressional fundraising events.
• Participates in industry events and maintains engagement with relevant trade associations such as Airlines for America (A4A), U.S. Travel Association, and others.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience on Capitol Hill, in the Executive Branch, or a similar role at a Fortune 500 company
• Ability to work on a bi-partisan basis and to interact professionally and constructively with senior government officials and staffers with different backgrounds
