Description:
The New England College of Optometry (NECO) seeks a creative, strategic, and technically skilled Web Content Specialist to join its Marketing & Communications team.Manage and update NECO’s various WordPress websites to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with brand standards. Build and maintain web pages, landing pages, and campaign microsites to support Admissions, Development & Alumni, and institutional initiatives.Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Development, or a related field. 2–3 years of experience in web development.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and update NECO’s various WordPress websites to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with brand standards. • Build and maintain web pages, landing pages, and campaign microsites to support Admissions, Development & Alumni, and institutional initiatives. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate complex academic and clinical information into accessible, engaging web content. • Ensure best practices in SEO, accessibility (ADA compliance), usability, and mobile responsiveness, and work with outside consultants as directed. • Troubleshoot site issues, manage plugins, and coordinate with external developers or IT as needed. • Continuously improve user experience to support prospective student recruitment and alumni engagement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Development, or a related field. • 2–3 years of experience in web development. • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining WordPress websites (themes, plugins, page builders, basic HTML/CSS). • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences. • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics). • Proficiency with content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing software).
