Description:
Account Manager focused on earned media and public relations to join a growing Washington, D.C. presence.Lead and execute earned media strategies and outreach across nonprofit and government client accounts, build targeted media lists, draft and edit media pitches, and more.4–6 years of experience in public relations, earned media, or communications roles, strong experience editing and refining written content, and experience working with nonprofit, policy, or government clients.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute earned media strategies and outreach across nonprofit and government client accounts
• Build, maintain, and refine targeted media lists (national, regional, and state-level)
• Draft and edit media pitches, press materials, and rapid response communications
• Lead reporter outreach and relationship-building, including proactive pitching and follow-ups
• Edit and refine thought leadership content, including op-eds and commentary for Beltway and policy-focused audiences
• Support and coordinate events, including planning, logistics, speaker prep, and on-site execution
Qualifications:
• 4–6 years of experience in public relations, earned media, or communications roles (agency experience strongly preferred)
• Strong experience editing and refining written content, especially op-eds or thought leadership
• Experience supporting or leading events and media moments
• Experience working with nonprofit, policy, or government clients is a plus
• Experience contributing to new business pitches and presentations is preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially PowerPoint
