Description:
The Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs is an integral member of MEMA’s Government Affairs team and supports the association’s advocacy efforts by leading engagement on federal, state, and international regulatory issues affecting the motor vehicle supplier industry.- Represent MEMA before federal and state regulatory agencies and international standards bodies, and coordinate meetings with member company representatives, policymakers, and industry representatives. - Manage and coordinate targeted working groups through the MEMA Government Affairs Committee (GAC) and councils to draft comments, advocacy communications, or responses on specific regulatory issues and policies.- 5 years of experience engaging in the regulatory process at the federal level. - Experience working in regulatory, legal, or legislative analysis with a strong understanding of U.S. regulatory processes. Familiarity with agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency or the U.S. Department of Transportation is a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Represent MEMA before federal and state regulatory agencies and international standards bodies • Manage and coordinate targeted working groups through the MEMA Government Affairs Committee (GAC) and councils • Develop policy statements and position papers on regulatory subjects affecting the vehicle supplier industry • Facilitate the development and submission of regulatory comments • Track and communicate regulatory developments, industry trends, and policy changes • Represent MEMA before other industry groups, associations, and coalitions
Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience engaging in the regulatory process at the federal level • Experience working in regulatory, legal, or legislative analysis with a strong understanding of U.S. regulatory processes • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, or a related field • Demonstrated public speaking skills, including the ability to present regulatory issues to diverse audiences • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate the technical impact of complex regulatory initiatives • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
