Description:
Lead and execute SFA’s government relations strategy, with primary responsibility for U.S. federal legislative engagement and oversight of the Association’s broader international advocacy coordination.Serve as a senior advisor to the CEO and COO on legislative strategy, political dynamics, and the securitization industry’s regulatory needs across global markets.Significant experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, and financial services, with a deep understanding of the relevant regulatory and policy landscape.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a senior advisor to the CEO and COO on legislative strategy, political dynamics, and the securitization industry’s regulatory needs across global markets.
• Advise senior leadership and SFA membership on policy issues, legislative developments, and political trends relevant to the structured finance industry and develop strategies to mitigate risk or leverage opportunities.
• Engage directly with SFA member firms and leadership committees to develop advocacy priorities and ensure alignment with industry needs.
• Partner closely with the Policy and Regulatory Affairs team to align legislative advocacy with regulatory priorities and broader industry policy objectives.
• Effectively communicate and negotiate with policymakers to drive legislative outcomes and support regulatory engagement aligned with SFA’s policy priorities.
• Develop, maintain, and grow strategic relationships with Members of Congress, congressional committees, and senior staff; serve as the primary liaison with legislators and federal policymakers.
Qualifications:
• Significant experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, and financial services, with a deep understanding of the relevant regulatory and policy landscape.
• Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships with policymakers, regulators, lobbyists, and key decision makers.
• Proven track record in strategic policy development and advocacy.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills to assess regulatory risks and opportunities.
• Experience preparing and delivering effective summaries on complex issues.
• Ability to navigate complex political environments.
