Description:
Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., the nation’s largest healthcare law firm focused exclusively on matters specific to health care organizations, is seeking a highly qualified Government Relations Advisor to join our dynamic Advocacy Service Line in the Washington, D.C. office.Monitor legislative and regulatory issues of importance to clients. Prepare legislative and regulatory reports, issue briefs, talking points, and other advocacy materials for internal and external use. Assist with management of external and internal clients. Attend congressional hearings, agency meetings, health care stakeholder conferences, and other events relevant to firm clients.Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in health or government a plus. Experience working on Capitol Hill or at a federal agency. Experience with the legislative and regulatory process.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor legislative and regulatory issues of importance to clients. • Prepare legislative and regulatory reports, issue briefs, talking points, and other advocacy materials for internal and external use. • Assist with management of external and internal clients. • Attend congressional hearings, agency meetings, health care stakeholder conferences, and other events relevant to firm clients. • Develop and maintain personal relationships with members of Congress, congressional staff, agency staff, and other health care stakeholders so these relationships can be utilized to advance and support client goals. • Prepare and present webinars and participate in public speaking activities outside of D.C.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in health or government a plus. • Experience working on Capitol Hill or at a federal agency. • Experience with the legislative and regulatory process. • Highly proactive and entrepreneurial work style, with the drive to pursue opportunities, build relationships, and push issues forward without waiting for direction. • Strong oral and written communication skills, problem‑solving, attention to detail, project management, and the ability to synthesize and present complex information to various audiences. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining responsiveness to clients and emerging policy developments.
