Description:
Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring a digital-savvy Press Secretary to join our communications team.Managing relationships in key states, particularly around our state legislative work and electoral engagement work.Four or more years of proven communications and media relations experience, especially in the digital media ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
• Show expertise in crafting messaging around priority campaigns • Develop and grow relationships with key journalists and influential voices in traditional and digital media • Support our political communications work for the 2026 midterms by pitching stories on key themes and races, and working to make gun safety a key issue in the midterm elections • Develop comprehensive communications strategies, planning around major moments and finding opportunities to get our message front and center
Qualifications:
• Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to create dynamic, persuasive communications materials • Four or more years of proven communications and media relations experience, especially in the digital media ecosystem • Experience working in a campaign-like environment • Comfortable learning and explaining complex policy issues to reporters • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and juggling multiple projects at once
