Description:
Manages GII engagement on public policy, legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to nonprofit governance, tax-exempt status, and tax incentives for charitable giving and donations.Represents Goodwill with Congress, the Administration, coalitions, and organizations to advance GII’s positions on issues pertaining to nonprofit governance, tax-exempt status, and tax incentives for charitable giving and donations.Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the development and implementation of strategies to increase Goodwill’s visibility among policymakers and stakeholders and build relationships with the same.
• Monitors federal and state legislative and regulatory developments.
• Supports development and implementation of social media and digital advocacy strategies.
• Manages advocacy engagement for a designated portfolio of issues in GII’s policy agenda.
• Contributes to the development of Goodwill’s public policy agenda.
• Works with GII team to identify and address the policy interests and needs of local Goodwill organizations.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of state and federal legislative and regulatory processes.
• Excellent written, electronic, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work collaboratively with GII team members, representatives of Goodwill member organizations, and representatives of outside organizations.
• Ability to initiate, develop, and implement legislative and grassroots mobilization strategies, including using social and other digital media.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while delivering on time with high quality.
