Description:
We are looking for a strategic communications consultant to support the development and implementation of the Institutions for Development department’s (IFD) communications strategy and craft high-impact narratives that showcase the sector’s work.Plan, design, implement, and monitor the IFD Sector’s communications strategy, including the dissemination of knowledge products and strategic initiatives. Ensure alignment of IFD communications with the IDB Group’s corporate communications strategy and institutional priorities.Master’s degree in communications, public relations, business and/or marketing or equivalent. From 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably in multilateral organizations or matrixed, international organizations in the area of communications strategy and management.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, design, implement, and monitor the IFD Sector’s communications strategy, including the dissemination of knowledge products and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of IFD communications with the IDB Group’s corporate communications strategy and institutional priorities.
• Develop and implement high-impact narratives on IFD’s work for internal and external audiences, adapting content for multiple channels such as events, presentations, websites, blogs, social media, and digital platforms.
• Coordinate and manage a calendar of high-impact communications activities in collaboration with communications focal points across IFD divisions and DCC.
• Support the design and execution of communications plans for strategic and flagship initiatives within the Sector.
• Serve as the main liaison with DCC for the implementation of IFD’s communications activities, including dissemination of studies and press releases; preparation of speeches, talking points, and executive briefing materials; and coordination of communications training for IFD staff and selected partners.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in communications, public relations, business and/or marketing or equivalent.
• From 5 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably in multilateral organizations or matrixed, international organizations in the area of communications strategy and management.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
