Description:
Editor, CommunicationsWrites and edits stories for Getty magazine and Getty’s digital platform, *News & Stories*, in a wide range of genres and at all levels of complexity; conducts interviews with Getty staff, subject matter experts, and members of the local arts community, and works with them to ensure all copy is fact-checked and aligned with Getty’s institutional prioritiesBachelor’s degree in the humanities (preferably in English, journalism, or art history); At least 5 years of relevant writing and editing experience, preferably including 3 years in an arts environment
Responsibilities:
• Writes and edits stories for Getty magazine and Getty’s digital platform, *News & Stories*, in a wide range of genres and at all levels of complexity
• Conducts interviews with Getty staff, subject matter experts, and members of the local arts community, and works with them to ensure all copy is fact-checked and aligned with Getty’s institutional priorities
• Creates and manages the weekly *Get Inspired* newsletter
• Writes and edits copy as needed for the Marketing team, Getty’s Advancement department, and Trustee communications
• Uploads and manages content within Getty’s content management system for publication on *News & Stories*, as needed
• Works with the Rights Coordinator and other colleagues to ensure that artwork images and photos can be acquired and published according to copyright rules and agreements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in the humanities (preferably in English, journalism, or art history)
• At least 5 years of relevant writing and editing experience, preferably including 3 years in an arts environment
