Description:
ANSER is seeking a senior-level International Treaties & Agreements Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, International Treaties and Agreements Branch (AF/A10P).Monitor all Department of the Air Force (DAF) activities related to specific treaties, including providing historical background and context. Analyze current and future implications of treaties on DAF programs, capabilities, and operations, and develop official policy and position statements.Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as international relations, political science, national security studies, or similar. 15+ years of experience in national security or a related field.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor all Department of the Air Force (DAF) activities related to specific treaties, including providing historical background and context. • Analyze current and future implications of treaties on DAF programs, capabilities, and operations, and develop official policy and position statements. • Identify and alert leadership to potential treaty compliance issues, providing written and verbal recommendations to stakeholders ranging from senior Air Force leadership to base-level Treaty Compliance Officers (TCOs). • Provide subject matter expertise on key international agreements, including the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), as well as other treaties as required. • Assist in the development, analysis, and coordination of official DAF policy and position statements related to international treaties and agreements. • Assess the impact of existing and proposed treaties on Air Force acquisition programs, operational capabilities, and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as international relations, political science, national security studies, or similar. • 15+ years of experience in national security or a related field. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant international treaties and agreements. • Proven experience with treaty implementation and compliance activities, including associated systems and processes. • Strong understanding of Air Staff, Joint Staff, and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) structures and responsibilities related to treaty requirements.
