Description:
Advocate and advance EEI's policy priorities with Congress, the Administration, and other stakeholder groups on all issues relating to energy and the electric power sector.Develop and coordinate comprehensive strategies to achieve the industry's goals on relevant energy issues. Coordinate and work closely with all policy teams within EEI to develop educational materials on legislation and industry issues.10-12 years of experience in the federal legislative and political process, with the ability to manage and coordinate legislative activities. Established relationships with Members of Congress, Congressional staff, the Administration, and various outside stakeholders and third-party groups.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and coordinate comprehensive strategies to achieve the industry's goals on relevant energy issues.
• Coordinate and work closely with all policy teams within EEI to develop educational materials on legislation and industry issues.
• Assist in drafting legislation, amendments, and report language; draft letters to Congress and the Administration expressing EEI's position on relevant issues.
• Work with EEI staff in drafting testimony to congressional committees on behalf of EEI; assist in briefing EEI hearing witnesses.
• Participate in and represent EEI at various conferences and forums to support EEI member companies and advance industry issues.
• Ensure that key priorities are communicated to Senators, Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and Administration officials, and that those priorities are reflected in federal legislation and regulations.
Qualifications:
• 10-12 years of experience in the federal legislative and political process, with the ability to manage and coordinate legislative activities.
• Established relationships with Members of Congress, Congressional staff, the Administration, and various outside stakeholders and third-party groups.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences, including government officials, EEI members, and senior leadership.
• Demonstrated strong initiative and leadership skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work effectively with a broad range of staff and external stakeholders.
