Description:
As Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment & Litigation, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and managing employment and litigation matters during a period of significant growth.Actively advise on and drive a wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters, partnering with internal teams on fact-finding, demand letter responses, and third-party information requests.J.D. required, with active standing in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred). 7+ years of combined legal experience handling litigation, investigations, and employment matters, including in-house experience at a technology company and/or a top-tier law firm.
Responsibilities:
• Actively advise on and drive a wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters, partnering with internal teams on fact-finding, demand letter responses, and third-party information requests.
• Manage and oversee outside counsel and insurance providers, to deliver favorable outcomes while effectively managing costs.
• Oversee subpoena requests with a pragmatic approach that balances speed, rigor, and practicality.
• Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks, developing litigation strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on employment law issues across the full employee lifecycle — including hiring, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, terminations, workplace investigations, restrictive covenants, wage and hour, and privacy.
• Review, draft, and consult on employment-related agreements, including offer letters and separation agreements.
Qualifications:
• J.D. required, with active standing in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred).
• 7+ years of combined legal experience handling litigation, investigations, and employment matters, including in-house experience at a technology company and/or a top-tier law firm.
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local employment laws, with genuine curiosity about new areas of law and business.
• Proven ability to balance risk and opportunity, thinking creatively to enable smart, practical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound business judgment, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal counterparts.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a high volume of projects, shifting priorities, and competing demands with composure and strong organizational skills.
