Description:
The National Audubon Society is a leading nonprofit conservation organization with 120 years of science-based, community-driven impact, dedicated to protecting birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow.Reporting to the Managing Director, Global Policy, the Senior Manager, International Policy will be responsible for working with a network of climate and clean energy experts, providing support for network operations, as well as policy research and analysis.Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, natural resources, or related field and 7+ years’ experience with a relevant federal agency working on climate or clean energy issues, with an international organization, or with a policy-oriented nonprofit organization is required.
Responsibilities:
• In coordination with the Managing Director, Global Policy, facilitate the operation of a network of climate and clean energy experts, including organizing virtual meetings and in-person events, managing listservs and discussion groups, and maintaining documents.
• Provide research, analysis, and policy input on domestic and international climate and clean energy issues to support the network of climate and clean energy experts.
• Working with the Managing Director, Global Policy and other Audubon staff, provide policy research, analysis, writing, and strategic guidance on international conservation and climate issues relevant to Audubon’s Healthy Birds, Healthy Planet Policy Agenda.
Qualifications:
• Experience working in international climate negotiations and/or on U.S. climate or clean energy foreign assistance is strongly preferred.
• History of managing and reporting on funded projects is strongly preferred.
• Past experience working with international organizations, processes, or partnerships is strongly preferred.
