Description:
A Senate office seeks a highly experienced Information Technology (IT) Deputy Director to assist in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, encompassing a range of technologies such as SharePoint, Exchange, Active Directory, VMware, SANs, host servers, etc. The role demands a skilled professional adept in managing both the hardware and software aspects of a complex IT environment in a fast-paced and team-focused environment.
Key
Responsibilities:
include the following:
Network and Server Management:
• Administer and support server environments, including but not limited to VMware, SANs, and host servers.
• Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
Application Management:
• Manage and support enterprise applications such as SharePoint and Exchange.
• Oversee Active Directory for user and computer account management, group policies, and authentication services.
End-User and Mobile Device Support:
• Provide comprehensive technical support, including mobile devices and office productivity software.
• Educate staff on best practices for utilizing enterprise applications and IT resources.
Security and Compliance:
• Implement network security measures and maintain compliance standards.
• Regularly update security protocols and perform network audits.
Disaster Recovery and Data Backup:
• Develop and manage disaster recovery plans, especially concerning virtualized environments and data storage solutions.
Technological Innovation Proficiency:
• Maintain proficiency in current and emerging technological advancements.
• Ability to multitask and ready to tackle challenges in a dynamic IT environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, MCSE, VMware Certified Professional).
• Extensive experience in managing and supporting SharePoint, Exchange, Active Directory, VMware, SANs, and host servers.
• Proficiency in mobile device management, including iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server configurations, and data storage solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated record in horizon-scanning, anticipating problems, and researching cutting edge solutions.
• Top Secret / Sensitive Compartment Information (TS/SCI) security clearance required.
• Applicants also must be able to pass a background investigation.
Working Environment:
• Standard office hours with a requirement for occasional after-hours support.
• Physical capability to manage server room equipment and perform hardware maintenance.
• Ability to travel to offsite locations occasionally.
