Description:
The Office of U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego is seeking a community-driven Southern Arizona Director to lead the Senator’s engagement across the region. Reporting to the State Director, this role serves as the Senator’s primary representative and advisor on Southern Arizona issues, relationships, and regional priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong regional knowledge, established relationships with local elected officials and stakeholders, and the ability to represent the Senator independently in dynamic and politically sensitive settings.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: Advise the Senator on Southern Arizona issues and regional political dynamics. Represent and accompany the Senator at meetings, community events, and town halls. Build and maintain strong relationships with local elected officials, tribal leaders, and community stakeholders. Coordinate with State and DC staff to elevate regional priorities. Collaborate with Scheduling and Communications teams on regional outreach and messaging.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Deep familiarity with Southern Arizona communities and political landscape. Experience in community engagement, public affairs, or political organizing. Strong communication and public-speaking skills. Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and travel throughout Southern Arizona.
