Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is seeking a Constituent Services Liaison to join his Austin, TX office. Job Summary: Acts as a liaison to federal agencies for the Senator on behalf of his constituents. Education:
Responsibilities:
Constituent Services Liaison Responsibilities: Assist Texans with issues or access to services with federal agencies Provide prompt and accurate responses to incoming Constituent Services communications (written & oral) Initiate prompt inquiry with respective federal agency when required Ensure timely and accurate case documentation in database Heavy interaction with constituents and federal agency congressional relations staff (written & oral) Assist in answering incoming phone calls as needed Assist staff assistant with administrative duties as needed Attend job-related meetings, agency seminars, and briefings as needed
Qualifications:
Four year college degree, or equivalent professional experience Skills/Requirements: Must possess strong professional communication skills (written & oral) Detail oriented and possess critical thinking skills Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing responsibilities with minimal supervision Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy Experience with database systems Knowledge of general office procedures Ability to conduct constituent meetings
