A Republican U.S. Senator is seeking a Communications Advisor to join the communications team. This position, which will report directly to the Communications Director, will play a key role in helping shape the Senator’s rapidly growing national media presence. The ideal candidate will be strong writer, hardworking and have on the record experience. This is a fast-paced environment that will be a great opportunity for candidates interested in joining a large and impactful communications operation. This is not an entry-level position.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Assisting in managing and booking tv, radio, and print interviews Pitching stories and working closely with reporters Developing thoughtful and thorough talking points and messaging documents Helping oversee aggressive rapid response operation Helping communications team draft press statements and press releases
Qualifications:
Qualifications Proven track record of booking and staffing press interviews Excellent writing, messaging, and strategic communications skills Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment 3-7 years communications experience is preferred. Hill and Political experience also strongly encouraged by not required.
