Description:
Senator Michael Bennet, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, seeks an experienced Legislative Assistant to handle the Health portfolio. The position requires the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Hill experience strongly preferred. Colorado ties a plus. Our Office prioritizes building a diverse team.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for: monitoring pending legislation in assigned issue areas; drafting amendments and bills; recommending legislative strategies within the issue area; identifying leadership opportunities for the Senator; working with stakeholders; preparing briefing materials for the Senator; and staffing the Senator when pertinent.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will be independent self-starters with a demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and work well as part of a team. They will also have superior writing, analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
