Description:
The Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works is seeking applicants for a Communications/Legislative Internship for Summer 2026. The internship provides an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on how a Senate Committee works to pass legislation, implement laws, and conducts oversight on federal agencies and programs. Candidates should be self-starters with strong writing, research, and communication skills. For Legislative Intern applicants a background in toxics, PFAS, and EPA water policy is strongly desired.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will include assisting the policy team with drafting memos, attending, and taking notes at hearings and briefings, and scheduling meetings with stakeholders. Communications Interns may be asked to help with tasks such as drafting talking points and press releases, gathering news clips, or putting together press event memos.
