Democratic Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee is seeking qualified candidates to lead and oversee legislative process within the Committee, through the Senate floor, and in bicameral negotiations with the House of Representatives.
Responsibilities:
Applicants should have a strong understanding of committee legislative process, be highly-attuned to both policy developments within the Committee’s jurisdiction and the political environment, and demonstrate an ability to lead teams. The candidate must also work well under pressure, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have great organizational skills, and be very detail oriented. The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work independently as well as within a team, and experience briefing senior leaders, including members of Congress. An ideal candidate would have a connection to the Pacific Northwest.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate must have at least 7 years of work experience with an emphasis on legislative activities, and have a record of being proactive and demonstrating initiative.
