Description:
The Office of Senator Mark Kelly seeks a highly motivated individual for a Business and Agriculture Representative position. This role will be based in the Phoenix office and report to the Central Arizona Director. This position will serve as the Senator’s liaison to businesses, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and agriculture, ranching, and natural resources stakeholders across Arizona. This is not an entry level position. This position offers a salary of $70,000 and is eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities:
The Representative will be expected to build relationships on the Senator’s behalf with stakeholders, with particular emphasis on Arizona’s agriculture and natural resources sectors, understand and report to senior staff the changing dynamics (and issues) of their portfolio; and provide feedback on opportunities in each community for the Senator to engage. This position requires travel to communities throughout the area of responsibility and the state.
Qualifications:
This includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have five years of professional experience working with relevant community organizations and/or local governments, and demonstrated ability to build coalitions and represent a principal at public events and in policy discussions. In addition, the candidate will be a self-starter and dependable, possess superior interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize. Candidates with Arizona ties preferred, and written and verbal Spanish proficiency highly desired.
