Description:
The State Outreach Team of the Office of U.S. Senator John Fetterman is comprised of staff members that work across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve as community liaisons. Reporting to the State Director and serving as a member of the state outreach team, the Eastern Regional Director is responsible for managing the regional representatives within the Eastern region of Pennsylvania while also serving as the primary liaison between the Office of U.S. Senator John Fetterman and all constituents in the city of Philadelphia.
Specific
Responsibilities:
Direct the eastern region team including supervision, managing assignments, and workflow of 3 team members.
• Collaborate strategically with fellow regional directors to identify key issue areas throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Develop and maintain relationships on behalf of the Senator with local elected officials, government agencies, key stakeholders, community organizations, major institutions and constituents in Philadelphia.
• Represent the Senator at civic meetings and community events to monitor developments, current events, opinions and concerns.
• Remain current on legislative and non-legislative issues affecting constituents in Philadelphia to update the Senator and relevant policy staff on local developments.
• Assist with strategic planning of the Senators state work period appearances and events; plans and coordinates outreach events; and assists with other projects as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of experience working in a government office, quasi-governmental agency, or nonprofit.
• Previous advocacy, legal, or social work experience or training.
• Significant professional and management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the city of Philadelphia and the eastern region of Pennsylvania.
• Ability to provide strategic leadership and manage a team.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail required.
