Senator Mike Lee, a senior member of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, seeks an attorney for a Counsel position based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
include, but are not limited to, drafting and reviewing legislation within the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee, helping vet nominees to the federal judiciary and DOJ, coordinating SCOTUS amicus filings, assisting with preparing the Senator for hearings, and composing legal memos on topics of national importance. Due to the fast-paced environment of Capitol Hill, the Counsel will be entrusted with significant responsibility and expected to display the highest levels of professionalism, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and good judgment.
The position is open to exceptional law school graduates with 1-3 years of experience, preferably including a federal clerkship. Successful applicants should be prepared to demonstrate a commitment to conservative principles, an originalist judicial philosophy, and the Senator’s agenda.
