Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Legislative Correspondent based in Washington, DC for his Personal Office and Energy and Natural Resources Committee to work on policy and correspondence related to energy, environment, and agriculture. Ties to New Mexico, an interest in the policy area, and/or fluency in Spanish are a significant plus. Our team is driven by a desire to make a difference for our constituents. Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing constituent correspondence in the assigned issue areas, regularly meeting with constituent groups, drafting memos and talking points, attending briefings, and summarizing materials assigned by Legislative Assistants. This position is required to work in the office.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have outstanding written and oral communication skills; be highly organized; possess strong analytical and research skills; and be able to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously.
