Senator Van Hollen seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Constituent Services & Outreach Representative. This Maryland-based position serves as a key liaison between constituents and federal agencies, supporting communities across the state by assisting constituents with federal agency casework related to housing, student loans, social services, education, and other topics as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include managing a casework portfolio in accordance with office procedures, working with federal agencies to resolve cases and communicate outcomes, monitoring relevant legislative and regulatory developments, liaising with local government agencies and community organizations on issues where federal and local policy intersect, and identifying systemic concerns arising from casework. In addition, the individual represents the Senator at community events and stakeholder meetings and builds relationships with stakeholders in related fields.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage confidential information with discretion, and the capacity to handle complex or sensitive constituent interactions with tact and diplomacy. Success in this role requires the ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to public service.
