Description:
The Senate Democrats’ Strategic Communications Committee (SCC), Chaired by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), is launching a summer fellowship program that will help prepare a new generation of talent for jobs in digital media with Senate Democrats. Fellows will work closely with the SCC team, who enhance Senate Democrats’ ability to formulate and advance their agenda through the use of modern communications platforms and techniques, to produce innovative video and digital content. Fellows are provided a stipend.
Responsibilities:
Fellows will work alongside the SCC team to: Edit video deliverables in cross-platform formats Develop highly creative and cutting edge digital strategies Assist in shooting, selecting, and editing photos Assist with internal file organization Assist in setting up lighting and audio equipment, including operating cameras Work with Senate Democrats’ digital and communications teams on tight deadlines Fellows will gain experience in all phases of media production, from conceptual brainstorms and pre-production, to filming, post production editing, and some motion-graphics creation.
Qualifications:
A strong understanding of the principles and practice of video editing is required, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro, is a plus – as is being chronically online. Well-versed in meme culture and emerging digital platforms, ideal candidates will be eager to craft messaging that authentically engages with untraditional audiences.
