Description:
Senator Cantwell offers seasonal internships in her Washington, DC office to highly motivated and organized students and recent graduates interested in serving Washingtonians and learning more about the United States Senate. Working in collaboration with the Senator’s professional staff, interns will have an opportunity to contribute to a variety of office priorities including policy and legal research; memo and speech writing; attending, analyzing, and transcribing Congressional hearings and briefings; communication tasks including drafting press releases, video editing, and graphic design; front office operations, including engaging with constituents in-person and on the phone and conducting staff-led Capitol tours; and contributing to constituent outreach, casework, and correspondence. We are currently accepting applications for our Fall 2026 internship cycle, which will run from September 14, 2026 – December 18, 2026. Applications will be open from July 15 – July 31, 2026. Applicants with a demonstrated interest in public policy and connections to Washington state are strongly preferred. Our office offers full-time positions at an hourly wage of $15.00 for 30 hours per week. We are also happy to work with your school so you can receive academic credit for your time in our office.
