Description:
Director of Public Policy & Media Relations position is a unique opportunity for an individual committed to advancing survivor-centered legislation and policy through a lens of social justice.Lead the organization's public policy initiatives, build meaningful relationships with policymakers and community partners, research, analyze, and monitor policy trends impacting domestic violence survivors.Deep commitment to ending gender-based violence through an anti-oppression framework, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the organization's public policy initiatives
• Build meaningful relationships with policymakers and community partners
• Research, analyze, and monitor policy trends impacting domestic violence survivors
• Lead the development and execution of statewide and/or regional advocacy events and trainings
• Lead coordination of the Domestic Violence Criminal Justice Response and Enhancement Advisory Council
• Engage CCADV staff and member organizations, as well as survivors, in policy development
Qualifications:
• Deep commitment to ending gender-based violence through an anti-oppression framework
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities to manage
• Ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
