Description:
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Government Relations Manager to join our team.Provide relevant legislative insights to the General Manager and key recommendations for the business. Coordinate with the GM to gather and distribute information on all industries related to MHI Group business.Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or related field. At least 4 years of experience in public or private company government relations and advocacy in the energy field, or equivalent government experience (Congress, Senate, Department of Energy).
Responsibilities:
• Provide relevant legislative insights to the General Manager and key recommendations for the business.
• Coordinate with the GM to gather and distribute information on all industries related to MHI Group business.
• Serve as Energy Policy and Regulatory Specialist.
• Provide strategic information and analysis on energy policy and regulations related to decarbonization business.
• Draft and regularly publish analysis on the impact of proposed policy positions, including commercial risks and opportunities to the company.
• Provide political and governmental expertise to assigned areas.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in public or private company government relations and advocacy in the energy field, or equivalent government experience (Congress, Senate, Department of Energy).
• Knowledge of energy-use challenges, utility regulation, and renewable/clean energy standards.
• Experience developing, presenting, and implementing business recommendations based on geopolitical climate risk analysis.
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
