Description:
Johnson & Johnson is searching for the best talent to join our team as the Director, Oncology Public Affairs, to be located in Horsham, PA.Develop and implement public affairs and advocacy strategies that help enable faster and broader patient access to Johnson & Johnson’s oncology medicines, in close partnership with brand, market access, Government Affairs and policy teams across the portfolio.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with a preference for study in Political Science, Policy, Public Relations, Government, Community Affairs, Communications, or a closely related field.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement public affairs and advocacy strategies that help enable faster and broader patient access to Johnson & Johnson’s oncology medicines, in close partnership with brand, market access, Government Affairs and policy teams across the portfolio.
• Help advance Johnson & Johnson’s position on policy matters in relation to patient access, portfolio growth, or the United States’ leadership in innovative medicine, ensuring positions are grounded in business priorities and patient impact.
• Use existing enterprise, policy, and reputation platforms (such as the Oncology Care Index and the Center for U.S. Healthcare Policy Research) to strengthen Johnson & Johnson’s voice, advance oncology policy priorities, and reinforce the company’s leadership in innovation, access, and patient‑centered care.
• Build and sustain strong networks with advocacy organizations, professional societies, and other key stakeholders to help shape the external environment and build aligned support on issues that matter most to the business and the patients and customers we serve.
• Anticipate and manage sensitive issues with care and sound judgment, identifying emerging risks early and partnering across the business to shape thoughtful, coordinated responses that protect reputation and support continued access and innovation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with a preference for study in Political Science, Policy, Public Relations, Government, Community Affairs, Communications, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years professional experience
• Experience in public affairs, politics, policy communications, advocacy
• Strong communications skills, including engaging with executive leadership
• Strong writing and messaging ability
• Experience with external affairs development and execution
