Description:
The Digital Manager + Press Secretary will work closely with the Communications Director, Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and District Director to develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that advances legislative priorities, elevates the Member's profile, and engages constituents.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Include: Leading digital strategy and content across X, Instagram, Facebook, Substack, Bluesky, email, and the website Drafting and distributing the weekly newsletter Translating legislative and district work into compelling digital storytelling Tracking digital performance metrics and recommending growth strategies Fielding and responding to media inquiries Building relationships with national, regional, trade, and new media outlets Supporting proactive media strategy and rapid response Staffing DC-based events (press conferences, interviews, podcasts, etc.) Assisting with media prep, message development, and crisis communications
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong digital media expertise Video editing and graphic design skills Media relations experience Sound political judgment and knowledge of the legislative process Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Hill and/or media experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.
