Description:
Congressman Don Beyer (VA-08) is seeking a Technology Policy Legislative Assistant to handle an active portfolio of issues with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence and Fusion Energy.
Responsibilities:
Developing and advancing legislation and other policy priorities for Rep. Beyer, researching and advising him on policy issues and vote recommendations, advancing appropriations and local priorities, preparing and staffing the Member for committee hearings and markups, drafting talking points and speeches, planning policy related events and representing the Member in meetings with stakeholders and constituents.
Qualifications:
An entrepreneurial self-starter, intellectually curious and a quick study. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is working well as part of a team. This is not an entry level position; relevant legislative and/or policy experience is required.
