Description:
The Office of Congresswoman Analilia Mejia seeks a Legislative Assistant to lead a portfolio focused on health policy and other issues.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Congresswoman's work on healthcare and childcare issues; working with the Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to develop and execute a coordinated legislative strategy; preparing for and staffing committee hearings and markups; drafting legislation and amendments; writing talking points, briefing materials, and memoranda pertaining to assigned issue areas; working closely with the communications and district teams; monitoring policy developments in issue area; interacting with key constituent groups and stakeholders; and strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of Hill experience or relevant policy experience; highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
