Description:
Congresswoman Emily Randall is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Press Fellow to join her Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities:
Assist with drafting press releases, media advisories, newsletters, talking points, and other communications materials. Monitor local, state, and national news coverage and compile daily media clips. Support social media and digital content creation by drafting captions, organizing assets, and identifying engaging content opportunities. Assist with photography, videography, and organizing digital content from events and official activities as needed. Help update the office website and maintain communications materials. Conduct research to support communications projects and messaging. Collaborate with legislative, district, and communications staff to ensure accurate and timely messaging. Research and identify local and national content creators, influencers, and community voices for potential digital engagement and partnership opportunities. Provide general administrative support for the communications team as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Interest in public service, journalism, political communications, or digital media. Familiarity with social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, X, TikTok, and YouTube. Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, video editing, or graphic design is a plus, but not required. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple assignments. Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute creatively. Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with coursework or experience in communications, journalism, political science, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
