Description:
Congressman George Whitesides seeks an experienced Communications Director to lead the office's communications operation.
Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with reporters and producers, drafting press releases, statements, talking points, speeches, op-eds, and newsletters, responding to press inquiries, coordinating and staffing TV, radio, and print interviews, town halls, and public events, overseeing earned media and digital workflow, working collaboratively with Legislative and District teams, and facilitating new and creative media efforts.
Qualifications:
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a press secretary, communications director, or in a similar communications role, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
