Description:
The Office of Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) seeks candidates for an open Healthcare Legislative Assistant position to lead the congressman’s work on healthcare, immigration, public safety, labor, human services, and postal issues.
Responsibilities:
Manages priority legislation for the Congressman’s work on the Ways and Means Committee, drafts talking points, memos, and recommendations on legislation and floor proceedings, represents the Member before stakeholders, federal agencies and constituents, travel to the district, and frequent outreach and involvement with constituents.
Qualifications:
At least two years of experience primarily involved in legislative and policy affairs, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously, and a will to work across the aisle to advance bipartisan initiatives.
