Description:
The Office of Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) is seeking an experienced, strategic,
and highly motivated Communications Director to lead and manage the Congresswoman’s
communications operation in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:
The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that effectively advances the Congresswoman’s legislative priorities, amplifies her voice across platforms, and engages constituents in Florida’s Third Congressional District.
• Develop and implement the Congresswoman’s overall communications and media
strategy.
• Draft and oversee the production of press releases, statements, op-eds, speeches,
newsletters, and other written communications.
• Manage national, regional, and Florida-based media relationships and coordinate
press outreach.
• Prepare the Congresswoman for media interviews, press conferences, and public
appearances.
• Oversee and coordinate all digital communications, including social media strategy
and content development.
• Manage and supervise the communications team, including the Press
Secretary/Digital Director (if applicable).
• Coordinate closely with legislative staff to translate policy initiatives into clear and
effective messaging.
• Monitor news coverage, identify communications opportunities, and respond
rapidly to breaking developments.
• Work collaboratively with the district office to promote constituent services, district
events, and local media engagement.
• Develop messaging related to key legislative initiatives, committee work, and
congressional priorities.
• Ensure all communications comply with House Ethics and Official Resources
guidelines.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, proactive strategist, and capable manager who
thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of the modern media
landscape.
• 1-3+ years of communications experience, preferably on Capitol Hill, in a political
campaign, or in government communications.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling
messaging quickly.
• Strong relationships with members of the press and familiarity with the national and
Florida media environment preferred.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Experience managing digital communications and social media platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with legislative and political teams.
• Strong attention to detail and sound political judgment.
• Commitment to the Congresswoman’s policy priorities and ability to communicate
conservative principles effectively
