Description:
Congressman David Scott (GA-13), senior member of the House Financial Services
Committee and House Agriculture Committee, seeks a Body Person/Legislative Aide to
join his Washington, D.C. office.
Responsibilities:
• Staffing the Congressman on and off the Hill for events and votes
• Coordinating closely with the Member’s Director of Operations and other operations staff
to ensure timely arrival of all appointments
• Overseeing a policy portfolio including energy, environment, defense, healthcare, civil
rights, and others as assigned
• Researching and advancing legislative and policy priorities
• Drafting vote recommendations, memos, and talking points
• Monitoring legislation and Floor activity
• Representing the Congressman in meetings with constituents, advocates, and
stakeholder groups
• Assisting the Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent with front office operations as
needed.
Qualifications:
This role is highly collaborative and Member-facing, and an ideal candidate will be a
team player with a strong sense of judgement, flexibility, and discretion.
