The Office of Congresswoman LaMonica McIver seeks a dynamic, mission-driven
Outreach Manager to strengthen relationships with constituents, community
organizations, local leaders, advocacy groups, and stakeholders throughout New Jersey’s
10th Congressional District. WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work is mainly performed in an office environment and in the field.
• Ability to work in a small workstation without an expectation of privacy.
• Work schedule is determined at the discretion of the direct supervisor and will
require flexibility beyond a standard 9-to-5 schedule to meet the needs of the
Member.
• Including off-hours events on weeknights and weekends.
Responsibilities:
The Outreach Manager will serve as a key liaison between the
Congresswoman and the community, helping ensure residents are informed, engaged, and
connected to federal resources and legislative priorities. The role of an outreach manager for a Congressmember is to facilitate communication and
engagement between the Congresswoman and the constituents. Key responsibilities
typically include:
• Community Engagement: Organizing events, town halls, and meetings to connect
with constituents and understand their needs and concerns.
• Communication: Managing correspondence with the public, including newsletters,
social media updates, and press releases to keep constituents informed about
legislative activities and local issues.
• Relationship Building: Establishing and maintaining relationships with community
organizations, advocacy groups, and local leaders to foster collaboration and
support.
• Research and Analysis: Gathering and analyzing feedback from constituents to
inform the Congressmember's policy positions and legislative priorities.
• Advocacy: Representing the Congressmember at community events and meetings
to advocate for the member’s initiatives and gather insights from the community.
• Strategy Development: Developing outreach strategies to increase constituent
engagement and participation in the legislative process.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills, deep
community engagement experience, and a passion for public service and constituent
advocacy. A bachelor’s degree or higher education level is preferred, including strong academic
credentials. Previous experience is required. Knowledge of the 10th Congressional District
is required as well as a strong understanding of the physical geography of the district.
Ability to converse in Spanish preferred. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others;
• Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant,

• Knowledge of office policies, practices, and procedures;
• Knowledge of office computer applications; and
• Proficiency in word processing.
New Jersey and/or district ties are a plus.
