Description:
The District Office of Congresswoman Katherine M. Clark (MA-05) is accepting applicants for the position of Staff Assistant/Military & Veterans Constituent Service Representative. This is a full-time position. Office staff are currently working in person, remotely, or in a hybrid model depending on the needs of the office.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for a wide range of outreach, relationship management, event coordination, and correspondence. • Acts as the representative for the Congresswoman within their area of responsibility including answering casework correspondence, meeting with constituents, verbal communications with constituents, and serving as a liaison with federal, district, and local agencies; • Manages mail operations, maintains administrative files, and coordinates oRice supply re-orders; • Hosts periodic oRice hours at varied locations for constituents throughout the district; • Leads process for military service academy nominations, planning outreach to interested students, reviewing applications, and providing recommendations to Congresswoman; • Answers constituent calls, refers cases, and assists in internship supervision; • Informs the Congresswoman and the District Director of all happenings in their assigned issue areas by screening district media sources and interacting with constituents; • Acts as a liaison to local, state, and federal officials and other persons or groups to form effective relationships for the Congresswoman; • Manages casework portfolio as assigned and acts as liaison with constituents to ensure that their cases are handled in a responsive manner; and • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone who is personable, has great judgment, is quick on their feet and ready to seize opportunities (or create them). The ideal candidate is efficient but highly detail oriented, is a strong written and oral communicator, and has access to a vehicle.
