Description:
The Office of Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) seeks a creative Digital Manager/
Director to join his fast-paced three-person communications team. The candidate will
work closely with the Member, Communications Director, and Press & Digital Assistant to
carry out the Office’s digital media strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the communications team to develop and implement the office’s digital
content strategy.
• Produce timely content tied to legislative activity, hearings, press conferences, and
key policy and news moments.
• Pitch and coordinate with creators and new media to schedule interviews, direct-to-cameras, and other digital opportunities.
• Track digital performance metrics and recommend growth strategies.
• Clip TV appearances, floor speeches, and other video content for social media.
• Draft newsletters paid digital ads, and other franked materials.
• Draft scripts, talking points, and speeches for videos, livestreams, and DTCs.
• Monitor news and social media to identify emerging news developments.
• Manage and maintain the Office’s official website, digital technology, and digital
archives.
• Staffing events (press conferences, interviews, podcasts, etc.).
• Other communications and office-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a passion for digital communications and a proven track record of creating compelling content.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to craft compelling digital content across formats and platforms.
• Proficiency in video editing and graphic design using Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or
equivalent tools.
• Deep familiarity with major platforms, creator networks, and emerging trends.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities,
and deadlines.
• Spanish language proficiency is preferred. This is not an entry-level position and
occasionally requires working nights and weekends. Position based out of
Washington, DC, or San Antonio, Texas
